The Neighborhood

The tidal village of Bear River has long ago established itself as an artist destination. Many artists who call Bear River home open their studios to visitation.

Artists find themselves inspired by vineyards and wineries, the flow of the tidal river, historic buildings on stilts, unmarked walking trails, and the quiet spaces within.

Enjoy fresh coffee at Sissiboo Coffee Roasters, a bottle of wine from Bear River Vineyards, fresh locally grown food and preserves from Grandma’s Country Store, meals at restaurants, and frequent live entertainment within the village.

Note: All amenities are in walking distance.

Is this retreat space for me?

This space is for you if you are looking for a quiet rural setting to connect, create, contemplate.

If you love to hear the birds at dawn, the call of the eagles throughout the day, the ever-changing rise and fall of the Bay of Fundy tides, the absence of traffic lights, the intimacy of a small village, unmarked wooded trails and waterfalls, then this could be the place for you.

If you are an artist looking for a workspace away from your regular routines, this could be for you.

If you are an inspiring artist looking for a quiet space to embark on a creative journey, this space could be for you.

If you are a painter, writer, musician, or multi-media artist, this space is for you.

If you love historic houses that echo of times gone by, this is for you.

If you need a thoughtful spot to create, this is for you.
